Grand Champion is the pinnacle of competition at LS Fest, combining multiple segments into one competition to determine the best overall vehicle and driver. The competition combines Autocross, the 3S Challenge and Drag Race times into a single score, with the highest combined total being crowned the Grand Champion in one of three different classes. Grand Champions compete for a class trophy and a sizeable payout at the end of the weekend.
Grand Champion is for anyone who wants to compete in any or all of the GC segments, drivers are not required to participate in all the segments. Only participants who compete in all segments are eligible to win the Grand Champion competition. Participants who are not interested in competing for the overall Grand Champion win can compete and win respective prizes in Autocross, 3S Challenge, or the Grand Champion Drag Race class. Grand Champion drivers are free to choose which segments they want or don't want to participate in.
Two-driver entries are welcome at LS Fest and should register for the Grand Champion package. No more than two drivers are allowed per car, and each driver must register separately. Two-driver entries are placed in the Fun Run category and are not eligible to compete for prizes or the overall Grand Champion win.
Grand Champion is limited to 250 participants.
The field will be split into two groups that compete simultaneously at both Beech Bend Raceway Park and NCM Motorsports Park. The groups will switch venues each day of the competition per the published event schedule.
2026 Grand Champion Rules Coming Soon!
AUTOCROSS
Where speed meets precision. This is the most involving segment of the Grand Champion competition. Two autocross courses are utilized throughout the LS Fest weekend: course 1 at Beech Bend, and course 2 at NCM Motorsports Park.
DRAG RACE
The Drag Race segment of Grand Champion is scored on the fastest elapsed time for a ¼ mile drag pass. Reaction times are not included in the overall ET. The Grand Champion drag class will run at a designated time for one hour, or three passes, whichever comes first. Grand Champion participants are not allowed to run any other Drag Race classes, nor are any other drag classes allowed to run in Grand Champion.
3S CHALLENGE
3S stands for Speed, Stop, and Steering, combining elements of autocross and speed-stop into its own segment, testing the limits of vehicle and driver. A balance of power, suspension setup, brakes, along with driver skill and focus, is the key to the fastest time! This unique segment is a ton of fun for both participants and spectators alike. The 3S Challenge is held in place of autocross on Sunday.
The format is a side-by-side, low-speed, down-and-back course layout that will feature a 180-degree turnaround, slalom, and stop box. Each run will be the total of the left-side course time combined with the right-side course time. A complete run requires clean execution of both the left and right sides.
