Rich Willhoff, who finished second in Grand Champion points at both LS Fest West and LS Fest in 2017 and dominated LS Fest West this year, also took the Lateral G/QA1 Autocross title, winning by a margin of seven-tenths of a second over Duke Langley. Willhoff, Langley, and third-place finisher Glen Barnhouse all wheeled Corvettes, with Barnhouse’s 2012 Vette ending up just 15-thousandths of a second behind Langley’s ’02 model. Three other hard-fought awards also were handed out – Platinum, Silver, and Bronze. Don Gonzales earned the Platinum Award with a time of 35.047 seconds in his 2010 Camaro, Luke Manquen picked up the Silver Award with a 36.006 his 2006 Corvette, and Kevin Phillips got the Bronze Award with a 37.053 at wheel of his 1991 Chevy S10 pickup. Phillips joined Willhoff as a Grand Champion in Las Vegas, the first to win in the newly created Truck Grand Champion class.
